A few may remember I moved to Canada in the summer. Just settling in and still waiting for my tools to arrive (alas they are still stuck in the UK because of a "container shortage", our ship date has been pushed back 3 times so far)

Anyway, I stumbled across this little beauty on the Canadian version of eBay and picked it up for the equivalent of £57, not bad I don't reckon.

It's made by Rockwell, which by my research is the company before Delta and puts this particular machine pre 1970 so it's quite old.

It runs like a champ and is seriously clean considering the age (and compared to some other images I found online) I've done nothing to it. The previous owner had bought it second hand over 20 years ago.
The issue with old Sanders though, this one in particular is the lack of dust extraction. Does anyone have any good ideas how to remedy that?

Great looking machine. As to extraction its going to be hard on an open machine like that. The best I can think of is a bell mouth on a 100mm flex hose positioned near the work going to at least a 2hp extractor.
When I sand things on the lathe I just point the end of the hose near the workpiece. Not perfect and I still need a mask but does get most of the dust.
Regards
John
