Welcome, I feel sure we will all help in any way we can!

Have you considered joining a club?

99% of your questions already posted could be answered at one evening session of a local woodturning club.

I have been a member of clubs across the country for decades and it is one of THE most useful ways of picking up information, making friends and in many cases trying something yourself at "Hands on " meetings!

Where are you in the UK, take a look at the AWGB "The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain" web site (Google) and you are VERY likely to find a club near you?

Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the forum

I have been here for about 6 months now and can honestly say I have never met a more friendly and helpful group of people. If you need to know something try searching the posts first as the chances are someone has already asked that question. If you are still not satisfied with what you find then ask and doubtless someone will know the answer

Ive been told that they have a very good segmented turner there im going to go down there on sunday and join
