There is some good news there, but the nano-diamond battery is more at the development point of ‘we have proved that the physics is not impossible’ rather than ‘commercial product’.

Its ‘killer application’ is still likely to be space craft and very-remote sensing where changing the battery is not an option.

IIRC some of the discussions from a couple of years ago were around the point that to get the equivalent power as an AA battery, the diamond would have to be grown to roughly the same volume so would have a cost of a similar level. Therefore viable to put on something in space (military/space agency budgets), or maybe spying devices, but I can’t see it making it to a ‘business application’ let alone a ‘consumer application’.
