I fancy a bandsaw upgrade.
I currently have an old startrite 351, but recently I've been finding its capacity lacking, so I'm looking for something bigger and well, better.
If I can sell my old one, I think my budget will be about £1500 which I reckon will put into my reach machines such as:
Hammer n4400
startrite 501e
Those are the main two, but then I saw models from people like Charnwood and SIP.
Now, in my mind Hammer and startrite are the better manufacturers, but then I though "aren't they all made in the same factory?" and now I'm just going round in circles. I don't know what to think.
And then, of course, there's eBay. Big old ones on eBay

So, if you had £1500ish to spend on a bandsaw what would you do?

(p.s. single or 3 phase, it doesn't matter. I have both. Size is not much of a consideration. I have plenty of room)

I would probably point you towards the axminster plus models, until you said that you had 3 phase. That probably opens up a whole load more options that I know little about.

I had expected to ne saving for either a hammer or the 352 startrite, but the axi vame up for the right money just as i started to look seriously. I cant fault it for anything i have thrown at it so far.

What capacity do you need? Mine does 12" I think. Beyond that you are probably talking an absolute beast of a machine!

Wadkin BZB,
but preferably don't bid on one I might want. :D
buy on ebay at a good price, spending your remaining budget on delivery, tarting it up, new bits and bobs and a shed load of blades.
