Hi everybody!
i've got a problem. When I plane up the edge of my boards(Oak 6ft long)I seam to get a half to one mm bow in the middle.Im doing the machining on a Startrite planer so I dont think the machine is flexing any with the weight.Ive also set everything up to within a couple of thou.Am I doing something wrong? Ive tried putting my hands in different positions when feeding(the planer!) to no avail. The tables on the machine are 1.5 meters long so I would think the would is more than well suported.
Help anybody its doing my head in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Chris,

When you feed the board over the cutterhead, try not to push down on the timber. Let the board slide all the way across the tables under it's own weight, this should stop the problem.

cheers,
jon.
