interesting to see how quickly the panels curled. I knew that you needed to put a balancing veneer on the back, but I didnt realise that it needed to be done at the same time.

Good work Pete, and having done one all that now stands between you and sunbursts on six foot diameter tables is a bit of practise!

Seriously, veneering is often seen as some kind of black art, where as it's really not that hard and it opens up so many design possibilities.

Custard, I was just commenting to someone else that I really like Karelian Birch, but every time I look for some online it's either very expensive or very small pieces (knife scales) so veneering is a great way to incorporate it into some of my work. I don't know what it is, but this wood just grabs me. Everything I've seen built with it by others just looks stunning.
