My wife wanted an new oak cabinet to match our side board

results below

not bad for some left over oak flooring still need to varnish it but all but done.

Nicely executed - I like the crisp contemporary lines in that.

I should think your wife is pleased isn't she??

gregmcateer looks like you are just down the road from me i'm in stourport but was born and bred in wordsley and stourbridge
 
An excellent way to use up off-cuts, so nicely done. What sort of varnish are you going to go for?..I tend to use matt acrylic these days (from Homebase...nowhere else seems to stock it) if I varnish anything as you can whack on a couple of coats in a day with minimum drying time 'twixt them (say about an hour) I've gone right off polyurethanes 'cos of the yellowing effect they can have on pale timbers - Rob
 
just finished vanishing it, i have used a clear diamond coat polyurethane floor vanish give a good hard finish which we need having 2 kids under 10
