My wife wanted an new oak cabinet to match our side board

results below

not bad for some left over oak flooring still need to varnish it but all but done.

yes it matches the sideboard i will try to post some pictures of the sideboard later

An excellent way to use up off-cuts, so nicely done. What sort of varnish are you going to go for?..I tend to use matt acrylic these days (from Homebase...nowhere else seems to stock it) if I varnish anything as you can whack on a couple of coats in a day with minimum drying time 'twixt them (say about an hour) I've gone right off polyurethanes 'cos of the yellowing effect they can have on pale timbers - Rob

just finished vanishing it, i have used a clear diamond coat polyurethane floor vanish give a good hard finish which we need having 2 kids under 10

wishful thinking do you think it will work on the kids, if so there may be a demand for it.
