Mind you where the devil you get the thin ply from at a sensible price I've no idea.

I thinnnnk I'll hold off on one of those for a while Chas. As you sat it's very difficult to find the proper ply for such a piece ,

However this morn. I managed to make a three legged horse with a cloven foot ,and another one with no tail ,so things are back to normal over here .

Looking good Eugene, not bad for a first effort. You should keep some of them so that you can see how you improve with time. And by the way you've posted this in the general woodworking section as well.
happy scrolling
Steve

It's not easy cutting symmetrical shapes with a scroll saw and I reckon you've made a very creditable attempt, Eugene - well done :) .

Now, about that schwiboggen... I can get you a pattern  . Not only that, I could even send you hunting for aircraft-grade plywood (which is much cheaper than thin BBP) or I could remind you that Hobbies of Dereham sell thin ply. Mind, the price of the stuff is such that I reckon you'd be better off cutting it out of plexi and illuminating it with a low-powered bulb.

Not surprised it turned up in GEN. Wood. it could turn up anywhere ,the auld hand gives a bit of a twitch at the wrong time and if I don't feel and see it HRH the Queen could be reading me post.

Gill. thanks for the encouraging words ,I am just getting over the ultra careful side to scrolling now and the scared to do something wrong or not to be exactly on the lines is beginning to look not as ruinous as it did at the beginning. And as I still have some of me 8 x 4 sheet of Birch ply left I am glad.

I would like to thank all on the Scrolling site for their help and encouragement since I first dipped me toe in the water. Long may it last.
