I mentioned on here a few weeks ago when I got my first scroll saw that my intentions were to use it to make boxes so that I could decorate them with my pyrography iron.
After doing several cut out exercises from a book; fish, dogs, dragons and that sort of stuff I decided to jump in at the deep end and design my own box.
Here are the results.
I am happy with the fretwork and the pyrography, but the joints on the box were an absolute failure. I thought it would be easy to do some mitre joints on my sander but that was a big mistake. I disguised them pretty well, but I'm hoping for better results next time when I shall be having a go at box joints before reaching my peak with a set of dovetails
Meanwhile, I'll take some comfort in the fact that Rome wasn't built in a day.
