Hi I have the opportunity to get my hands on a cmt multico morticer that the current owner knows nothing about, you can guess the sad story. Does anyone know if the machine is supposed to have a working x y bed, and if it is single phase? Any other pearls of wisdom about the machine?

Be looking at mostly softwood but hard wood mortice of 4” thick will be one of its first jobs.

I was about to order a Charnwood w316, there is currently no stock nationwide on bench top morticers, with the SIP’s being back in stock 12th February, charnwood 2nd March and record power in April. The sip appears to have a small clamping capacity, and I can’t wait until April. I’m guessing the multico would be a better machine. It appears to be a single phase machine but I have to put my car on a boat to Isle of Wight to have a look, not cheap.
thanks in advance.
