morse taper dirill bits - what are they used in or worthless

got a load of them from a relatives shed clearance, but absolutely no idea what they can be used with, or even if they are worth keeping as just taking up space.

so any pointers from anyone what they can be used for?

best use for them is to give them to me.
lol. I assume they are jobbers bits and going up to a decent size, they are great for those with a metal lathe (with a morse taper tail stock). not really much use for wood work, as you can easily get bigger holes using a spade or fostner bit.

Also useful for boring in wood turning lathes, providing you have a wood turning lathe and the Morse taper is the same size as its tail stock. I use them from time to time.

yes some are quite hefty.

looking on here notice that they were for lathes but as said i have not seen them really used in any woodwork lathe video hence the question.

so they would fit into the tailstock and then use to drill holes into metal, whereas woodwork would just use a spade or forstner?

may keep them then, just on the off chance i ever get a lathe to play with.

Some larger bench drills take morse taper bits. A few are handy in the tailstock of a wood lathe for making tool handles and the like - two or three are good to "step" the hole.

I know I can run them in my pillar drill, but have never needed to, I have used a morse reamer before in the pillar drill though, they are much more useful.

vinegar rust removal will get them back to workable.

only one of those is a ream. second picture 3rd one down.
the ball, cone and think that looks like a round file are burrs for in a die grinder.
the tight spiral in the second picture is a masonary bnit. the others are interesting, I think they are for cutting slots but not sure.
