Sorry. my pillar drill keeps sending me back needing help...
Replaced my 3ph motor for an appropriate 240. All well, used it for an hour or so almost non stop the other day.
Today, i pressed the on button, and there was a bright blue spark, and no further movement. The engine hums if i press the go button now, but nothing moves. So, while it was humming, i gave the spindle a turn to see if it just needed encouraging to get going. Bigger blue spark and it took out the power for the unit.
Anyone shed any light on what this might be, or how I might diagnose it?
Its an old motor but i only just installed it, be a shame to have killed it already!
Many thanks
