More DIY tools at Lidl from 30 August.

As per heading. I have bought a few Aldi tools, none from Lidl though. OK for occasional use and a 3 year guarantee ( although I was looking through some assorted receipts yesterday and found what I thought were blank ones - they were Aldi tools receipts but the print was scarcely visible and I don't think I could have returned any detective tools using them as proof of purchase - just a thumbs up for past Aldi customers).
Anyway some interesting offers, although personally I would rather pay £40 for a Makita red series angle grinder than £20 for a Lidl one. They seem to have reasonable grinder accessories though.

I do buy tools from Lidl and sometimes Aldi.

I tend to leave the 'this could kill you' machines like angle grinders, circular saws etc but the air nail guns and drill bits etc seem good vfm.

You are missing out, LIDL's £20 variable speed grinder is a superb bit of kit.

Never mind red Makita, my Lidl Parkside grinder is holding up better than a £90 blue/green Makita I bought that has no variable speed control, and a switch that sticks.

I think the poor quality switch is a thing with the Makita. I have to use the handle of a small tack hammer to get mine to operate as my thumb isn't strong enough.

Had a quick look at the grinder today. The box feels pretty heavy. Can you use the grinder one handed easily?

Got a Metabo at present thats good but get fed up with endlessly changing from cutting to grinding disks so a second machine would be nice.

I would be the first to say that aesthetics should be th least important part of buying a cordless tool, but that is with out a doubt the ugliest on the market.

As good as the Parkside is, Metabo's speciality are grinders. They are still made in Germany. You would struggle to beat what you have.

Lidl do a 20V cordless grinder as well. That might be a better more portable alternative. Might have to wait a while before it comes up again.
