Im bored im moving house next Friday got all my workshop in storage so cant tinker got every thing packed move is 280 miles down sarf, News came on might be a war in eastern Europe that will be good for the planet . So i got to thinking is this one big game of monopoly on armagedon day will there be a G20 meeting where the countries tally up who has the most Land , Money and Population and they are the winners "BANG" good night world

More than once, I've heard someone say, what we need is a good war.

Do they think because standards of living increased after the last big one, that they will again?

It could be worse, a war on Europe’s borders and we could have a government of sycophants led by a seriously dishonest, self serving, clown as a prime minister who lacks a moral compass. What could possibly go wrong then ?

Borris the clown is just trying to do something that people will associate with him after he is finally kicked out, something that will make him be remembered for a while and if all he can do is poke Russia with a shity stick whilst pretending to be some great leader then the sooner he goes the better.

He is just to stupid that he cannot realise what putin could hit us with, clever people do not start something that they cannot possibly win.

There will be no Russian invasion of Ukraine despite the endless, constant provocations by the west. More interesting is why are 5 US carrier groups off the coast of China ? No one talking about that...

The constant, pointless yelling about Russia is to hide something else. What could it be?

Granted, our media is biased, but so is russian media.....
They may or may not invade, only putin knows. But basically, from what i can tell, he has an all time low popularity rating, has to kill or lock up his opposition ( or try both at the same time ) and the only thing thebrussoan population will unite over is nationalistic issues, so if he makes out he is being bullied and the west want to penalise russia, they'll fight..... but if he told the Russians he wants to do some nation building and stay in power for another 10 years, they won't.

I am of course, not an expert 😆

Good spot. But I have no idea why they are there.

But I really must take you to task about 'constant provocations by the West'. I think you will find that the Russians had a bit of a hand in invading Crimea. There are also quite a few satellite countries where Russia has sent in troops 'to help support the regime'.

Did they actually invade or were they invited? 2014 Crimean status referendum - Wikipedia

Agree with

If you were going to invade somewhere would you not just go and do it rather than parade around on the border giving the other side time to prepare, and the west do give Russia a hard time because they do not fall in line with western values.

What like the Americans in Vietnam, or removing a leader they did not like in Iraq.

Anything does kick off and we're all up poo river without an outboard.
If only Borris had that level of understanding or common sense. Does anyone think Putin is just playing a hand of poker, unfortunately he has the ability to back it up and If you are in any doubt about what Russia could deploy:

Quote " America’s dated Minuteman III missiles certainly pack a punch, but even when carrying three of its most potent warheads, these missiles are utterly dwarfed by Russia’s most advanced (and powerful) ICBM coming into service this year: The RS-28 Sarmat.

The RS-28, sometimes known as the “Satan II,” has been in development since 2014, and was famously described as “capable of wiping out parts of the earth the size of Texas or France,” by Russia’s state-owned media. The missile has a range of 6,385 miles and carries a warhead jam-packed with Multiple Independent Reentry Vehicles (MIRV) that boast a combined destructive yield of 50 megatons. In other words, the RS-28 Sarmat carries a destructive yield greater than 35 times that of the Minuteman III. "

So only someone at least partially insane would stir things up, what sane person would attack someone with a handgun armed with nothing more than a water pistol or french baton.

@Trainee neophyte maybe to persuade the PRC to keep taking over the world by selling us endless amounts of cheap garbage we don't need but for some reason can't live without and just foreclose on all our mortages that they hold instead, rather than take the small step of subsuming Taiwan first instead.

I recently read about 4 possible scenarios Russia had in a nuclear exchange between themselves and the US.
"A nuclear war between Russia and the United States could lead to the total destruction of the two countries, Konstantin Sivkov, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences for Information Policy believes."

In a first option, Russia launches a preemptive nuclear strike against the United States and its allies*.
"In this case, almost all warheads will reach their targets, and the United States will cease to exist as a state,” the expert assures, admitting that Washington's retaliatory strike will be 30-40 percent weaker than the preventive one. Still, it will cause monstrous damage to Russia.
-----------------------------------------
The second option for Moscow to act is to launch a preemptive nuclear strike at the time when Washington begins to destroy Russian strategic deterrence forces with conventional arms.

"The enemy will be able to neutralize only a small part of the Russian nuclear potential — no more than 10-12 percent. The consequences of such a strike will be just as catastrophic for the United States as in the first option,”
------------------------------------------
In a third option, Russia may engage from 40-50 to 70-75 percent of its nuclear potential to strike a retaliatory nuclear blow. The two countries will actually cease to exist after they exchange such attacks, Konstantin Sivkov believes.

------------------------------------------
"The fourth option involves a retaliatory nuclear strike. One has to admit that this is the most probable way for Russia to proceed. In this case, up to 30 percent of the initial number of Russian warheads will be able to reach targets on the territory of the United States. Most of the American economy will be destroyed with such an attack, but not completely, the specialist believes.

Sivkov is confident that as a result of a nuclear war between Russia and the United States, human civilization will persist, but it will be completely different with such countries as China, India, and Brazil taking the lead. In his opinion, a nuclear conflict between Russia and the USA will mark the onset of a "nuclear autumn", rather than a "nuclear winter”. "

* Britain. Basically everything from Luton down is utterly destroyed(Some might not see this as such a bad idea) Scotland, Wales, Ireland would likely survive untouched. But in Scotland's case Faslane probably would share the fate of London and all the other allies. Which is why voting for Scottish independence is so important.*

* Or at least me moving out of Glasgow and opting to live somewhere in the North

Oh God the usual conspiracy nuts have something new to troll about, now that we're in the covid end game. Western provocations. How the mighty Russians outmatch the lazy degenerate infidels (sorry, mixing opponents there). Blah blah blah.

Ignoring this thread to avoid me head exploding.

Putin is smarter than "the Western" leaders especially Johnson and Biden who are proven fools.
He is just messing with their heads
Unfortunately I think Biden actually wants a war, firstly to distract from his total incompetence and secondly to fund the vast military economy of the USA.
Also we must remember 90% of anything on mainstream media is made up at this point.

And lets move the border south so it includes north Cumbria, we are closer to Glasgow and Edinburgh anyway and all the government wants to do is use us as a place to bury radioactive waste, whilst reducing government funding for anything else.

And then we had that stupid Liz do not trust prancing around trying to be like thatcher, probably not a bad move sending a court jester to try and make Putin laugh. At the end of this some leaders could end up with egg all over them with Putin just saying I told you so.

You dinnae need Putin as an excuse to do that, it's weegieville yer in laddie. Just don't have the compass the wrong way up and end up in Cumbernauld :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

🤣🤣🤣.
Of course it is - whereas everything on the web is well researched by professional investigative journalists all prepared to put their names to all their work. 🙄
I didn't compare mainstream media to "the web" which is obviously a place where virtually any opinion can be found. To both its detriment and benefit.
This is partly the point though. Many people just watch the BBC and read the papers, believing them on face value.
