Can anyone tell me exactly how a moisture meter works?
I persume it is simply measuring the electrical resistance between two points - the drier the wood, the less water and so the more resistance.
Therefore, is there any reason I couldn't simply use my multi-meter to measure the resistance.
Of course, what would be really useful is for someone out there who has both a moisture meter and an ohm-meter to give some guidance as to how much resistance can be expected for, say, 20%, 15% and 10% moisture in hardwood.
Can anyone help
thanks
Edward
