My Elektra Becham KS250 saw has had to go, they no longer make them and i could not find the parts i wanted.
However it has been replaced by a JCB 1600W 240V 210mm Sliding Compound Mitre Saw SCMS255. I had my old saw mounted on a workbench but thew new saw is a sliding type. My work bench is not wide enough for the sliding action so i have decided to make my own table, what i cant decide on is how far the legs should splay out from the table top to make it stable.
As always it seem as i need this info none of the shops have have one setup so i can have a quick measure. I'm guessing there must be a standard for this type of thing but does anyone know..

i have mine on a castored base and have no problems with stability when locked,

Thats a great table but i do not have the room on my workshop for anything that big. I was just wanting a small stationary table , i can then have it near the door and just hang long bits out of the door. Most of my cutting will be smaller stuff, at the moment i cut turning blanks and glue up a different wood between the two cut pieces then turn them, that way i get a fairly nice effect on a bowl.

if you mean the one on my youtube video, that's my bench, my scms is on it's own base, i have a shelf to go on it yet for my sander and grinder( just for storage),

as you can see it's not much bigger then the actual footprint of the saw,
