Has anyone ever heard of Milayan Mahogany??

Ive got a customer that wants a piece of furniture to fit in with existing pieces, and he informs me that these peices are made from Milayan Mahogany. The timber in question, looks to me like Brazilian Mahogany with the usual dark dyed finish.

Is there such a timber as Milayan Mahogany, or is a spin up for Miranti or Sapele??

Any clues?

Cheers

P.S. If it does exist, where can I get it
P.P.S. None of my usual contacts have ever heard of it.

Cheers Bob, Ill have a look at that site later.
Anyone else got any suggestions??

Does your customer know where the furniture was made or how old it is? Dark Meranti is probably a good option now as it is slightly darker than some mahoganies, and probably cheaper too.

The grain pattern doesn't really look like meranti, it's closer than meranti, more like brazilian mahogany. As for colour, I think the wood has been stained. I am beginning to wonder it milayan mahogany is a name for the colour of the stain.

Thanks for your help
