A question of no consequence, really, just my idle curiosity.

Why is the pitch of the holes on the MFT and clones 96mm? Why not 100mm?

Thanks
Geoff

I believe I read somewhere it was to do with gear size/ratios for machinery that were available in Germany after WW 2....??

It is all part of the "32mm System" which is commonly adopted throughout for the construction of cabinets and hardware, including hinges, drawer runners, shelf hole spacing and multiples of 32mm for handle holes......Certainly for kitchen cabinet construction!
