MFT top/frame advice please?

Am building a frame for my new MFT top, and am wondering whether the top needs more support (lateral struts?), or whether it will be enough to prevent sagging?



(Obviously the frame will sit under the top )

That should be fine, the mft 3 has no supports in the middle at all, just a lip around the edge.

I use my 2x1-meter MFT-style workbench as an assembly table and have four lateral supports between the end supports. I didn't want to take any chances with the 19mm top sagging or breaking under the abuse I intend for it.

My MFT developed a sag in the middle, it is abused, so I fitted 2 Ali lateral supports underneath, sorted.

Mine is similar to Mike's. Intermediate cross pieces on about 400mm spacing.
There's a 60Kg steel slab lying on it at present. No drama.
