I need to get some files for shaping metal- nothing too exotic, and probably mainly brass.

What sizes and cut would get me a reasonable starter set? ANy recommendations of brands/suppliers?

Thanks for that- For once, getting kitted out with a selection doesnt look like it will cost me a fortune.
