Hi, I've got a Metabo SXE450 TurboTec sander, bought from an auction. It is missing the bolt that holds the backing pad to the machine body. The part is described simply as a cheese head screw on the Metabo exploded diagram.

Does anyone know what thread and length this is? I could wait a couple of weeks to get a genuine Metabo part at £3, or I could buy a bunch of cheese head bolts from Amazon and get them tomorrow! I'm guessing it's an M? bolt.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Hi @2sheds

I'd never removed that until last week, when I had to take the sander apart to replace the power lead - it had split.

So I've now removed it twice and it is M8 with the thread 16mm.

Awesome, thank you @fezman that's brilliant. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - been away this week and just catching up with emails. I shall get one tomorrow.

Cheers
