Metabo HC260 planer/thicknesser

Hi, I bought this machine (from new) about 11 year ago.
It was supplied with HSS resharpenable blades. They are now approaching the end of their life and need replacing.
I contacted Metabo to inquire about converting to disposable blades as they are much cheaper. Metabo said they were sorry this option was no longer available.
I understand that a conversion kit is required. Does anyone have any suggestions how this conversion may be achieved?

Looking at the online manual, it appears identical to the Record PT260, the blades locating on a bar which has screws for tightening on to the cutter block. Google shows blades for both models readily available on line.
