Originally posted in the wrong section, apologies, but...

Just looking in to starting wood turning and found a lathe for sale. Ideally would like something with a rotating head for larger things in the future.

Came across a "Mejix" lathe but can't find any details about it on the internet. Anyone know anything about them?!
Cheers,
Adam

Hi

If you are ever after information about a lathe I would suggest visiting this site: http://www.lathes.co.uk/page21.html

It's got a vast amount of information. As for this Mejix lathe, the fact that there's no information readily available for it speaks volumes in my opinion and I would give it a miss. There's a few good lathes on ebay at the moment so have a look there and do you're research before buying anything.

Have a look at these two:

Blimey, what a comprehensive list!
I'll, thanks for yours thoughts. I'll give this one a miss. Those two are a little out my price range but will keep an eye out. I've heard whispers of a myford ML8 coming up for £100 near me, so may have a pop at that if I get a chance. Would really prefer something with a swivel head to allow me to turn platters at some point. Will keep my eye out, thanks
