Hi

A long shot, but does anybody have an exploded parts diagram for a Meddings Driltru bench drill?

I have emailed Meddings, but thought that I would ask here too. I would like to try an reassemble mine tonight if possible.

that may be where i end up. Meddings are usually pretty good though. I had a copy from them once before, but I cannot open the attachment on the email.

I dont think that there is a whole lot to the machines but it always helps to have some idea of what goes where.

i stripped it down a long time ago, and painted it. Then months passed by... It wasnt too bad to strip down, although i did need to buy a set of wedges and a bearing puller. Without these it would have been impossible without damaging something. The hardest part after that was finding the correct bearing sizes.

I have broken a circlip, but I cant remember which one, or the size, so that may cause me an issue at some point. I am hoping that it will go together quite easily. I think that Doug B did a WIP on a restoration which may be useful.

about the same. I havent dated it from the serial number, but i think that it is the same model as yours and was 1960-79.

I have the parts diagram if you need it.

That would be good. Could you email it to me, putting Meddings diagram as the subject? I think you've got my email address. It could be handy, thank you.
Were the bearings actually difficult to get hold of? Mine aren't bad, but I dare say they could do with a good clean through. curiously, Meddings said my serial number is registered to a totally different machine - although the number is perfectly clear and the plate shows no sign of ever having been tampered with. Iirc the plate on the motor gives 1960, and the firm that originally bought it went out of business as a single entity in 1961 (the property of Bush Radio plate is still on it).
