Not a big fan of MDF  but have been asked to make a unit for a friend so a couple of questions please.

Does the material lend it self to the use of KREG fixing and what sort of glue would be best for the joining :?:

Thank you

kreg as in pocket holes? Yes no problem with MDF. And glue, I use titebond but PVA or EVO wood glue should all be fine.

Sorry  , yes pocket holes

Will work a treat on the standard settings on the Kreg jig. Course threads are best for MDF.

The reason I asked was that if it was 12mm, they do a micro jig kit that fits the standard K4 housings, which also comes with a smaller diameter drill bit. They also do a screw without the shoulder, so that it doesn't sit proud of the surface. However, for 12mm, I find it best not to use their standard settings, as the hole won't come through in the centre of the material, which lead to splitting.

Cheers
Stu

Thanks for the info & suggestions :D

Never liked MDF too soft for my liking  , not a proper job, but not my choice but will give it a try.

Again thank you.

Use moisture resistant mdf or hdf if you're worried about it being too soft
