I needed USB drivers, as my USB hub doesn't find favour with my set-up. I downloaded some drivers, (from Cnet BTW) but when I installed them, I got a bad case of Malware from some 'games site'.

I managed to get rid of the malware, but I have been left with a problem concerning the mouse.
The pointer won't go 'live' and I'm unable to click on any links inside Firefox, unless I reload, or go into 'Private Browsing'. Re installing Firefox hasn't worked.
Does anyone have any ideas please?

Obliged. Thanks in anticipation. :) .

Windows? Maybe system restore to before the issue?
Grabbing at straws here a bit I'm afraid.

Hi John,
I had the same sort of problem recently after downloading from Cnet and found myself with 3 toolbars for various browsers, (despite ticking the box that I didn't want them), and was told
1 Open Firefox
2 Click on Tools on the top Menu Bar
3 Second object down is Add-ons
4 Click on that, and a page opens with an option for Extensions and an option for Plugins.
5 Clicking on either of these options should give you access to the various additions that have been made to your browser.
These additions should be marked with an option to 'Disable' or 'Delete'. Choose the DISABLE and use Firefox as usual until you are sure it is ok to delete them

take care
Don W

Thanks fellas. The problem won't go away, but I note it isn't present in I.E. 8. So it looks like it's a Firefox issue.
I'll try another browser maybe!

Thanks again.

Problem solved. Seems I needed to update Java, to compliment the latest Firefox.
