Anyway iv,e taken the switch apart and i can see where it has broke have a look at the photo,s .I cant say if this is the only fault with it and i don,t use a router so do you recommend i buy a switch and sell it on ?? I have a 3621c its a nice powerful router well worth fixing, there are plenty of places that will sell you a replacement switch.

Looks like one of the number No46's only £11.52 I would ring them to confirm the correct one, you might have a local repair shop that could get you one.

I've had a 3612 in the past agree that it well wort fixing. Built like a tank and tons of power.

I would however check the plunge mechanism before shelling out for the switch. I found the bearings gave a little play over time and if yours are problematic, it may make it financially unfeasible. Either way, spares or repair will probably fetch some cash anyhow.

Thank,s for the replies so you think it,s worth repairing and selling as i don,t have not use for it or spares and repairs ??/ could i post it on her ??? A s offers ?????

I would be interested in it at the right price, looks like it needs a baseplate as well, has it been used in a router table? has it got the springs in?

Pete

i don,t think it as been in a router table the person who had this was a kitchen fitter and this is how i received the router i don,t know anything about them sorry

That's the latch that holds the guide bush in place, that and the base plate that is missing.

I have one of those routers and it's a beast. Done hundreds of worktop joints with it in it's time and it's well worth fixing IMO.

I have the same router. I always found it a three-handed job to start it (two to hold the torque and one to flip the switch on) It was too brutal for me and used to scare me witless. I've mounted it in a table now and it's lovely.

Makita router now up for sale as spares or repairs and found the face plate lol
