My mate Graham is having a 70th party tomorrow.
My other mate, Sheila, said, "Ooh, Steve likes cooking, I'm sure he'll make you a cake". Thanks Sheila. I do like cooking but I'm no expert baker. Still, a Mate's a Mate, eh?

Graham has taken up the violin, much to everyone's distress, so Challenge On.

First I baked a few cakes, chocolate and swiss roll

I shoved them together and used another small cake tin to shape the profile

Then hide all the evidence

A couple of biscuits and liquorice allsorts

Finally a few Strawberry laces and

Now all I have to do is transport it in one piece.

Mary Berry eat your heart out.

Billy's licking his chops and slobbering, that cake is definately on his bucket list!!!!

Very nice Steve. Thanks for the WIP.
Cue the usual... "I would have gone for a gloss finish" ;-)
and
"What glue did you use? I bet the icing left you enough glue up time"

:)

Thank you all (I think).
I've just had a bit of the leftover cake for pud, and EIISSM, the cake itself isn't half bad. The icing is a bit sweet for my taste, but then icing always is.
I started this yesterday and I suspect I've put on half a stone.
