Making a single bed!

Hi all - looking for some help....I am making a couple of 6x3 beds, i have most of the design (in my head) but i am struggling on how thick the rails should be? (the bed will be mostly Oak)....

The rails on my shop-bought pine single bed are 30mm X 120mm
