I have just received my copy of Good Woodworking issue 152, and reading the article in hints and tips 'Cabinet mortices' I can't work out whats going on.

Can everybody else understand this tip or am I unfortunate with less matter on top?

The jig is cramped on to the workpiece (usually cabinet carcase sides) with the stock against the back edge, and has a notch in it for the router base. This is sized left/right to suit the mortices needed and the cutter in use. The jig simply restricts the left/right movement of the router, while the router's fence can be adjusted to control the up/down movement. By making the notch much deeper than the router base it's possible to adjust the positioning of mortices to a wide degree within the width of the board.

Sorry don't have no time to be more detailed but this is the basis of the jig. Hope it helps
