Machinery switches.

I apologize if I am in the wrong forum. Not sure if I should be here or turning.

My wife bought a home made wood lathe that plugs directly into the mains. There is no other switching device. We both think it advisable to wire in some sort of switch & breaker.

Can anyone advise us on the best route?

What you want is some sort of NVR switch. I recal people in here putting them on router tables so a search on that might bring some results

Yes a NVR switch is what you need with it positioned so you can easily hit the red buttom in an emergency.

Also no harm in having some form of RCD either the plug in type or one back at the CU.
