Mike has been in contact and is looking to have an open day at his new place.

Not far from where he was before it's a great place for like minded souls such as ourselves to have a meet up.
If you have never been before the new workshop is worth a look and a warm welcome is assured. He has varied stocks of timber available but should you require something specific please let him know beforehand.
Cheers Andy

35% is a lot to pay on top of your bid price though.... is this normal?

Local auction house in Devon is similar. Unless it's coming from a non vat business or a private person then it's 18%

Bump!

Just to add, I'll be there again supporting Mike & Rene, please come along if you're free, you'll be some great like minded people and have an interesting time talking to Mike/Rene and seeing what they've been up to.

Assuming the weathers OK, I'm planning on taking my Alaskan mill and doing a bit of milling on some logs Mike has for a demo until he gets his new mill.

Hope to see you there, Cheers, Tom.

Are you sure you have this right ?
I think you may have misinterpreted the way it's written, 35% as you say is a lot on top.
"We charge a buyer's premium of 15% + VAT on all purchases".... from web.
"The buyers premium will be shown as 18% (15%+20% VAT) .......from catalogue.
The invoice I have here for a £20 hammer purchase is £23.60.
20+15%=23
3+20%=60p VAT on the buyers premium.
Cheers Andy

I can give up hunting for a receipt now. I'm sure Andy's interpretation is right. VAT on the premium only, not the full price.

I plan to be at the next Stanley's sale, but can't make the MAC Timbers day.

All being well I will be displaying a few bits tomorrow, also taking a mixed bag of stuff to try and sell. I'll probably be setting up outside so lets hope it's dry and not too windy
Anyone else fancy dropping in?
Cheers Andy

Can't make it tomorrow, something I'd definitely try to get to in the future though!
