Our Panasonic has finally given up the ghost but it is proving difficult to find a replacement. Key features are FM and CD. Ideally FM has presets. But most important of all are decent size speakers. Something around 150mm dia or greater.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Of course he'll need DAB, don't wont to be left behind when they switch VHF off.

You are confusing frequency with modulation.
It's FM (Frequency Modulation) that they plan to turn off.
DAB is on VHF, as far as I know, I believe it occupies the spectrum that used to host VHF TV transmissions.

try this:

I have the older model of this, the CRH240. It is fantastic for the money. This one comes without speakers but I got a pair of Cambridge Audio bookshelf bi-wireables for £79. These make a good system for less than £200!
Whatever you decide, Richer Sounds are extremely good on price and customer service.
