Log storage, need some ideas

My 'workshop' is a single garage and is nearly full of timber. Thing is, I'm a miser and a hoarder and my woodwork interests are many and varied, (currently bows and crossbows, bench-carving and chainsaw carving, a little spoon carving, harp-making, boat building, wooden bicycles....) At the moment there are a dozen oak logs of small size filling what's left of my floor space. They range from 2 to 4 feet in length, from 3" to 18" in diameter, very few of them are straight and several are forked, but interesting shapes isn't a bad thing to a carver. I think I should at least cleave them but then what? They are too heavy to put on racks. Any advise on storage - burning is not an option

If I am not going to be able to work some wood before it drys, I will split it down the pith, store it out of the sun, with air getting around it (think mould), board over the top to keep rain out, and off the ground.

We blagged a couple of those pallet style boxes that paving slabs and the like are delivered to building sites in. Stood on edge they are perfect for neatly stacking up to 10-12 inch logs. The missus has even put an attractive sedum roof over ours.
