AB - What? I am boarding straight onto the ceiling joists / floor joists. Why?

Sorry noely what i meant to say are the joists your screwing to are they the original ceiling joists or have you installed new ones as ceiling joists are sized to cope with limited weight (plaster board and a few items in the loft) not dead loads and live loads. Just tell me to PO :lol:
 
No, I won't tell you to PO, not yet...
Joists are original but specified for loft conversion when I built the house. Approx 8 x 2"s.

Nice one someone with a bit of forward planning :) just thought i would ask because i could not tell by looking at the photo's. A chap from work did not realise joists were different and asked me why the floors creaked a lot in his new attic room when i had a look he had just boarded straight onto the 3x2's he was not best chuffed when i told him what the problem was :twisted:
