Hi everyone! All doing good I hope

I've been messing about with a shaker inspired linen chest and have been toying with the idea of using London plane/rippled sycamore fairly expensive timbers not easily available over 27mm I would Prefere 52-54nm to get 2 boreds at 20mm ish where as the 27mm there would be a lot of waste either up the planer shoot or ending up with thin 5/6mm offcuts that would cup quickly and wouldn't be overly useful
So my question would be would 24mm be to thick for a linen cabinet?

Cheers russ

How big is the item?

London plane is one of my favourite timbers.

24 mm maybe a little thick so why not let the waste go up the dust extractor, it may be that happens anyway to get the timber flat. I would not try to deep 54mm to gain thinner 20mm timber I don't see the merit in doing that and it will be more expensive than starting off with 27mm.

i think inch may look a bit thick on that size- 3/4" would look a lot lighter.
