Liming Wax

Hello all,

Been and got a tin of Liming Wax today hoping to use it on some ash,
As anybody any advice for me using it with a black wood stain think i use the liming wax first then the black stain and wood wax to finish.

You will need to stain your piece black first and then seal this with a rubber and then use the liming wax. If you lime first and then use the black stain you will stain the lime black.

Remember to open the grain first, so the liming wax has somewhere to go. you usually do this with a stiff wire brush used in the direction of the grain. Always try out on an offcut first if at all possible.

I have some ash which I would think will be ok.

All I need is some spare time in the workshop.
