Hi all
I'm sure many of you have seen the magnetic led light that can be put on the tool rest. At a recent club demo they were being sold for £20. My solution cost about £5 for a 1 metre roll of white LEDs which I soldered a 5mm socket on and use with a 12v power adapted that I had.

I've got a good general lighting set up. This is my view with the LEDs off...

Hollowing bowls and boxes is going to be so much more fun now!

Clever idea. I bought one of the Draper magnetic focusing LED lamps and it works well enough but the quality of light from most LED's seems to be pretty poor to me and the draper is no exception. I much prefer the halogen light on my milling machine but it's sadly not as moveable. I hope they improve the quality of these things as they're very useful in principle.
