Dear friends,
does anyone have a good tip on turning teachers or courses not too far from Oxford, say max 1-1,5 h drive.

thanks,
Geir

Whilst it might seem un-related, have you thought of sending for the excellent free video on the Hegner lathe? It contains loads of useful info on how to use the majority of turning tools and would be a visual "aide memoire" to get you started.

Ray.

Yes,
I can recommend the Hegner video. I have been shopping for a lathe recently and got some very useful information from it.
In fact, in some respects the video is as good as any £20 turning-DVD. And I had it the day after I phoned. (But to find a video player took some time....)
The middle part however, turned me off this lathe rahter than on. So in the end I decided on a Nova DVR with the SuperNova 2 chuck: no belts changing, more power, very nice design.

Happy turning guys,
Geir
