Lathe and pens

My farther in law who is 83 as bought a lathe and want,s to make pens as a starter so i was hoping for a few tips and if you know of any good videos or on you tube it would be most appreciated

I'm sure someone will be along to tell you the best pen turners to watch but check out Captain Eddie on YouTube and also Robbie the woodturner great videos and great turners too both do a mixed bag of tutorial style videos.
