Well after making all the presents I managed one last bowl of 2015. Made from Yew not that you need to be told. Finished with sander sealer and canuba wax on the buffing system. Measures 7 1/2" X 1 1/2".

Yew done well Derek, simple form letting the wood do the talking.

Done better than me today.
 
That really appeals to me, the figuring of Yew plus the natural "features".

Yesterday I made a pear from an offcut of acacia. Good to be back in the shed a bit..

Thank you all. Yes this type of wood like so many need to be turned with a simple theme as the wood will shine through.

I think that this is one wood at the top of my list of great woods to turn as well as for grain figuring
