I would appreciate comments from anyone who has used (or at least seen "in the flesh") the above-named.

I was trawling around the Internet as one does and was rather struck by this but have been unable to find it anywhere in Switzerland or during a recent short trip to Germany to actually handle it.

Apart from the obvious marking out uses, it seems to be a good answer to having a plunge/track saw (I don't, but do have a hand-held), but with the extra benefit that as well as fitting any hand-held circular saw (they say), it will also act as a guide for a jig saw (which I don't need I think), as a router guide (again they say it fits all routers), plus it has a knife guide for cutting soft stuff, a protractor, a spirit level, and it can be used as a trammel, etc, etc.

The tracks are in 2 lengths (80 cm and 120 cm I think) with a sensible looking joiner, and as well as having 10 mm thick ali extrusion tracks, all the bits and bobs are apparently made of glass reinforced nylon.

To get what I want it seems to cost out at about 100 Euros - not too bad. But is it accurate, is it up to the job and long-lasting, etc?

That's why I'd appreciate comments from anyone who's actually used it.

Here are some pics, and below is a link to a promo video (apologies in advance for the pretty poor English!):

[2 different kit sets - the upper costs about 50 Euros but doesn't have the jigsaw or router guides]

I'll follow up with the link to their promo video in a moment. In the meantime, any comments more than welcome. I feel that it MAYBE the greatest thing since sliced bread, or just as likely, complete "CARP".

Thanks in advance.

I have one. Its ok, nothing amazing. The clamps that came with it fell to bits so I bought the makita guide rail ones that fit it. I've only ever used it as a straight edge guide for my circular saw, most of the accessories are well made, I've just never needed them. I've got a cheapo track saw now and I'd reach for that every time over this.

Thanks for that info, just what I needed to hear from someone who has actually used it.

I don't know if you're old enough, but when I was a kid there was a weekly market in my home town and there was always a bloke there selling crockery. He had arm fulls of the stuff and chucked it from hand to hand/arm to arm, all accompanied with a wonderful patter "Not 2 bob Missus, not a tanner lovely, but TEN of these loverly soup plates for a penny, you can't say fairer than that can yer?", etc, etc. Wonderful stuff and he shifted a lot of stuff too, but while I'm sure it did the job (my Mum never bought, but we often stood and watched for a while) I always wondered if it was really any good or not.

That KWB promo video reminded me of that chap. :D :D

Unlikely to buy a Linemaster, but the video was entertaining, as you say pure cheese  .
