I purchased a second hand Kity 664 in France last year but believe there may be a piece missing (no fault of the vendor, he was selling a machine of his father's that he had never used). I have the handle for the speed controller and the lathe runs well but there is no connection between the speed controller and the spindle so it runs at a very high speed. It feels (and i am out of my depth) that there should be a spring or something that applies pressure to the spindle to slow it down or speed it up as pressure is added or removed by turning the speed controller. Can anyone advise , using quite small words please. TIA Dummyfromdownunder
