I've just bought Kity 618 table saw off Ebay. Now I've just heard that Kity has gone bust. Is getting spares for the 618 going to be a problem. I can't seem to find any references to the 618 on the web. Does anyone know anything about it - I hope I've made a good buy but now I'm not so sure.

Rob, welcome to the site. Although I'm totally Kityless a quick search or DAG on the Scheppach importers NMA, will give you their details. Sheppach now own Kity and I believe they now supply or will be able assist you with parts etc. No doubt somebody with more information will be along shortly.

Welcome Rob
I bought the Kity 619 TS long before Kity gave up the ghost, and there was virtually nothing on the web even then!
I think they are excellent machines, and I haven't needed a spare yet, touch wood (oh, I'm in the right place, then).
As Noely says, NMA deal with their stuff now, so it shouldn't be too hard to get parts if you need them.

Thanks. Do you know if the 618 is similar to the 619?

Hi Rob.
I don't know. Like I said, never seen much of their stuff and certainly no catalogues or suchlike. The 619 also seems to be called the 1619 and it probably is very similar to the 618.

when did you buy this saw as ilooked at one on e bay v.recently from a guy called alex &it was not what it seemed
bobcat :x

hi
i have had dealings with nma in the past i needed a new handwheel for my 419 t/s and even though it was under warranty, and they did replace it, i still dont have any confidence in them, its an age old thing about being a mushroom in the dark.
my advise is too stayer well clear of kity or anything associated.

The saw seems in good nick and seems to be running fine. No manual or mitre guide though. Any ideas where I met get hold of them?

hi rob
i can give a manual for 419 table saw if thats any help too you.
sorry i just read your first post

Thanks everyone. I just bought a 618 manual - seems a good little saw really.

Hi Rob
I've had a K618 for about 15 years. Still going strong.
Motor packed up at about twelve years but a specialist electric motor place sorted that. Also blade/motor assembly rise & fall mechanism sticks every five years or so. ( Seems ally casting sticks to steel guide ). A quick disassembly & cleanup cures that.
Did you get the sliding table assembly with it? If not try to find one somewhere, adds greatly to table's usefulness. I use mine all the time.

Toby,

Thanks for that. Sadly no sliding carriage or extensions but I'm looking around. The only thing that seems wrong with the saw is the rise and fall on the saw blade - it won't lower below the surface of the table - theres a couple of inches left protruding. I'll take your advice on cleaning/taking it apart.
Thanks again.

It's a 250mm. I haven't got a manual yet - just ordered one - i take it I'm being thick then?

No the 619 comes with an 250mm just checked their german site, and you can still buy all the stuff for it

Nothing wrong with a kity, its the french stuff, but he, even they do woodworking.

Now the germans have taken over, things will be better, trust me

Mcluma, Could post the address of the German website - I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks.
