Hi all can anyone tell me what this is ( see picture ) it came with the saw and planer i purchased the man who sold me it didn't know

what is the blue thing made of and are the 6 black strips magnets ?

Hi it's cast metal and they are not magnetic the other part is steel with a knob on each end and appears to fit onto the back of the cast part

Yes deffo planer. I’ve just dug mine out. Very slight differences and I have the instruction sheet to go with it if you want a scan then pm me your email addy.
