I have some beech in the shed that I could make a cutting board out of. But I'm wondering if a single slab of wood will warp/bow/cup considering the amount of moisture that it will be exposed to (granted that I'll oil it). Would cutting the wood into strips and laminating them in opposite orientations, produce a more resistant board?

Hi Fromey, here's one I made earlier (circa '96) occaassionally fed with sunflower oil.
measures 18"x10.5"x1.75", no problems with movement.
