How many will die this year in the name of entertainment

Find out Saturday :(

Don't worry, it is run by horse lovers for horse lovers. All those horse lovers will keep the horses safe, and do what is in the horse's best interests.

Whilst regreatble it should be kept in proportion. Here is horse country, every day I meet horses and riders on our lanes and rider always aknowledge the fact that I halt for them, unfortunately not all do....

Roy.
Round here all too few horse riders acknowledge a motorists exists.
As for that gripe, not all the highway code is law, just parts of it...

Actually Pete I wasn't much concerned with the gripe, rather the number of horses killed and injured. If somebody careers around a bend and hits a horse they could just as easily impact cyclists, pedestrians or other vehicles, therefore in the majority of cases the fault must lie with drivers.
Some drivers, I know, argue that horses shouldn't be allowed on roads, doubtless a 100yrs ago their grandfathers were saying much the same about motor cars!

Each way on Seabass and Rare bob, plus win for Ballabrigg for me.

I was going to go for Moaningoldmen but there was very little interest in it.

Decided on Synchronised and a little each way on Always Right - seemed appropriate somehow.

no argument there.
As a cyclist and recumbent tricyclist I completely agree!

Where does sport end and cruelty take over?

I don't watch it
read about it
bet on it
support it

but I would sign up to have it banned

All horse racing or just this race?

The only fishing I do is some sea fishing

I use big hooks and big bait to stop undersize fish being hooked

Anything I catch that is sizable is kept for eating or freezing

Well thats ok then, if we eat or freeze the dead horses it's not cruel.
