I'm a lucas mill owner and when I'm not using it too make a living
I'm slabbing or cutting timber for myself. With the timber and slabs
I intend to either sell or if I get time turn it into outdoor furniture.
I hope too post photo's of the finished tables, chairs, garden seats
ect. most of the logs I get are freebies, salvaged from heaps that
have been dozed up ready too be burnt or I follow the timber cutters
and cut up the heads of trees or trees they have cut down and
left and then there are the back yard trees of which there are quite
a few species. My other interest is the computer which I'm still
learning, I do a lot of surfing the web which has led me too this
site and glad I found it, you's do beautiful work and have heaps of
hints and tricks which helps ammatures like me. So keep up the
good work and maybe I'll be able to contribute with a hint or photo

G'day, Slabber, welcome to the forum. Slabbing timber yourself, eh? Yep, sounds like we might have a few drool-worthy pics coming from you in future then. :D

Cheers, Alf

Slabber

Are you a cricket fan?

Sure you haven't signed up to get some inside information on the match that starts this week?

By the way what is a Lucas Mill?

watch a bit of rugby league and union as well. Looks like you's aren't
having much luck with the cricket. What secret weapon are you's going
too unleash on us in the test. The lucas mill is designed and built in
Australia. It is known as a swing saw, the blade can cut either be
horizontial or vertical which is great for cutting board timber. My mill
is the smallest model they make, It's 13hp which will cut boards up
to 6" wide and 6" thick. Can cut 12" wide boards with a bit of mucking
around. Now the slabber is a chainsaw cutter bar attachment that replaces the saw blade and has a cutting width of 4' 6". Yes I will
have to post some photo's. The biggest slab to date is 4'5" wide,
9' long and 2" thick and it was a blue gum.
