Here are two photos of a pair of planter wheel barrows I bash up for our garden this summer. The patterns are based on the barrows in Spiellman's books with a few changes here and there so as to make it work. The timber is standard 1" tanalised which I decided to plane up. It is very poor quality spruce. I did not spend hours finishing for the sparrows to deposit on it.

I hope you soaked all the parts in preservative- their being tanalised won't make a jot of difference with that much end grain showing.
It's a lot of work, and you'll want to get a few extra years out of it!..............Nice!
